Vote.gov: Site redesign and content reorg

I worked with multidisciplinary teams at Bixal and the General Services Administration (GSA) to audit existing content and improve information on the vote.gov website.

We improved content flow and structure to make it easier for citizens to find general voting information and help them understand more about their rights and responsibilities when registering to vote. We also created sections for target audiences in need of specific information, based on recommendations from the White House and state and federal stakeholders.

It was important to ensure information common to multiple audiences was not duplicated, so we designed the backend so CMS users on the new Drupal platform could create once and publish in multiple locations.

I began work in July 2023. The updated and enhanced site was launched in July 2024.

HHS OSDBU Content Reorg

I was initially tasked to work with HHS Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) in January 2023 on plain language review and general revision of older content. I went beyond the initial ask and reviewed structure and organization of content to provide better navigation and flow of information. We collaborated directly and repeatedly with changing OSDBU (and HHS staff) for review and in-meeting revisions to ensure their needs and the needs of their audience would be met. The reorganization we did on the OSDBU content makes it easier for small businesses to find information they need so they can propose their services to help HHS fulfill their mission. The content was relaunched in April 2023.

The About page in Penn Radiology’s academic department section hadn’t been updated since well before 2016. I collaborated with the Department Chair and CAO to update in 2018. I also worked on layout and design of the section, updated in January 2020.

Spring 2015

Complete overhaul: Layout, architecture, edits/rewrites of site content, including addition of interactive Contact Us page, Facebook widget and calendar of events. Site was taken down in 2018 when organization folded.
